WRE on the new maps in Marinha Grande. 5 minutes from our accommodation!

The weekend 20th-22nd of february 2009, there is a big international competition ( also WRE) right in the middle of our training camp in Portugal. The terrain will be the one from the cualification races for the world championships for veterans in July 2009.

In 2008 the training camp orientabonito Sweden will be a joint project with the 5-days 2008 as the main partner.
 We will start the camp with four days trainings in Västerås on the maps from the World Championships from 2004. Compare your results with the champs. After that we will move up to Sälen, the area of the 5-days competition which will start the week after the camp. There we will have the opportunity to run an orienteering training also in Norway. Trainings: Trainings: A total of 11 organized technical trainings.
Sportident , Winsplits and GPS will be used. You are offered different kinds of trainings. Mostly short  and technically demanding. There will be 2-3 different courses, ranging from easy to very difficult = Maximal orientabonito challenge

At the evenings we will offer lectures/briefings where technical aspects of orienteering will be presented.

Car rental is included in the Camp. Pick up the cars at the international airports of Arlanda, Bromma and
Skavsta, Göteborg, oslo, Norway (or any other airport)

Accommodation: At school dormitories in Västerås. With kitchen for our own use. In Sälen; in bungalows at 200 m from the event centre. ( with kitchen and sauna in all of them)
Breakfast and Lunch buffet is included

Programme: We will start with a mixed relay on Sunday the 13^th of July at 17 00h.

Flights: it is possible to fly Ryan air to Västerås

Price: 345 ( groups of minimum 3 participants)

Martin Kronlund har avlidit. Det skedde den 1 mars 2008.

Martin flyttade till Spanien 1964.

Han introducerade samt arbetade för orienteringen i Spanien under mer än 40 ar.
Han var enormt omtyckt och respekterad av alla.

Peguerinosskogarna i bergen nordväst om Madrid var de som mest paminde Martin om svenska skogar. Därför önskade han att fa sin aska spridd där. Det skedde den 16 mars, da man även planterade ett träd till hans minne

Punta Paloma is the name of the new map that we offer. It is drawn by Indulis Peiland, Latvia, the  chief mapper for the European Championsships this year in Latvia.

It has both a very tricky and detailed part, close to the beach and a big very detailed slope. Probabaly the most tricky map that we have on offer in southern Spain. Situation: 10km north of Tarifa

And since Thierry Geourgiou, and Capucine Vercelotti, from the French national team where the first guests at Marjal Sport in Alicante, you may say that the start was a good one.
One exampel of a new night training, 4,5km,  in Guardamar, Alicante which Thierry ran at 24.30 minutes and Capucine at 33.40.

The trainings of this year are ready;
13 new trainings.
4 new sprint maps offered, and one new forest map. Total 160km and more than 600 controls.

We have been in Portugal this week to plan the activities for 2008:
The training camps in February and March: 2 new sprint maps available and also one more forest map.
At  the bungalows: one big climbing wall which can be used (also the equipment) for free, if you are experienced. A renewed gym, a big meeting room with internet and also a computer projector for technical breefings. The trainings will be provided in jpg for your convenience.
WMOC 2008: We now have another 40 beds available in bungalows. There will be a total of 300 runners at the bungalow complex. Next deadline is the 31st of December. 6 open races available.

The Norwegian Junior team has choosen the fantastic terrains of Clermont-Ferrand, France to prepare the "the Junior euoropean cup" and the upcoming season.

The winner in H21E was after the both days Lukas Bartak from Kobra, Slovakia and in D21E Vendula Klechova from Halden, Norway.

WRE 27th-29th of April 2007

The World Masters Championships, WMOC, will take place right in the middle of  our Training Camp in Portugal.

This means, of course that training there will be very useful. The competitions will take place on new maps in the area, but on the same type of terrain that we offer at the training camp where the World Cup was held in 2002. But what is even more important is that we will, by far, have the best possibilities to arrange a perfect stay for you during the championships. Dates 28th June - 5th of july 2008.
